Sam Peltier Director of Governmental Affairs
Sam Peltier is a seasoned strategist and trusted voice in Florida politics, currently serving as the Director of Governmental Affairs at the Pittman Law Group. With over a decade of experience spanning public service, political advocacy, and strategic communications, Sam brings a unique blend of policy expertise, relationship-building, and a deep commitment to results and impact. He leads the firm’s government relations portfolio with an unwavering focus on advancing client priorities at the local, state, and federal levels.
Sam’s career in public service began with the City of Tallahassee, where he served as the Senior Mayoral Fellow in the Office of the Mayor. In this role, he led constituent engagement and oversaw key municipal initiatives, including the award-winning Longest Table and the 1,000 Mentors program—both aimed at fostering civic trust and social connection. He later served as Special Assistant to Mayor Andrew Gillum, where he played a pivotal role in managing executive operations, public messaging, and strategic direction following the mayor’s high-profile run for Florida governor in 2018.
Nationally, Sam has been a bold advocate for marginalized communities. As a political advisor to the National Black Justice Coalition, he worked alongside elected officials and public leaders across the country to launch the Good Trouble Network—the first national coalition of Black, LGBTQ+ elected officials. His leadership helped expand representation, influence policy, and amplify underrepresented voices in government.
A proud graduate of Florida State University, Sam holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s in media studies. Beyond the office, Sam is deeply invested in his community, lending his time and talents to Leadership Tallahassee, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and other civic organizations. Sam and his dog, Moose, reside in Tallahassee, where they enjoy exploring the city’s parks, trails, and public spaces.
