Sean Pittman Senior Attorney & Chief Executive Officer

Sean pittman is the senior partner and chief executive officer of Pittman Law Group, p.l., which specializes in the areas of government, administrative, and corporate law. Attorney Pittman represents a diverse client list of private citizens, local governments, small businesses, and Fortune 500 companies. Sean serves as trusted legal counsel to cities, counties, hospitals, banking institutions, aviation and port authorities, universities, industries, corporations, and various professional associations.

As a local government lawyer, Sean represents Florida counties and municipalities before the Florida Cabinet, Florida Legislature, and other tribunals. As an administrative lawyer, Sean has a strong understanding of the Florida Administrative Procedures Act, advising clients on matters before the Department of Administrative Hearings and various State of Florida boards and agencies.

Sean received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1990 and went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from the Florida State University College of Law. While at FSU, Sean’s leadership qualities led him to become the Student Body President and two-time Chairman of the Florida Student Association Board of Directors.

Currently, Sean is President-Elect of the Orange Bowl Committee, the Founder and Chairman of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the Board of Directors for Hancock Whitney Bank. For his philanthropic endeavors, Sean was awarded the Tallahassee Servant Leadership Award by Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and the 2015 Distinguished Member Award by Leadership Florida. Sean is also the recipient of the Founders Award in 2014 from the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce and the 2016 Heman Sweatt Award by the National Bar Association, for demonstrating community leadership and concern for human and civil rights. He is also a 2017 inductee into the Tallahassee Barristers Legal Hall of fame. Most notably, in 2010, Sean contributed $100,000 to the Florida State University College of Law to fund the Sean Pittman Scholarship for minority students. The income from this endowment will be used to award at least one scholarship each year to a minority student who will assist the Florida Conference of Black State Legislators as a law clerk and a policy advisor. With a fifty percent match from the State of Florida, the total endowment was increased to $150,000.

The Tallahassee Democrat named Sean one of the “Top Twenty-Five Most Influential People in Tallahassee” and featured him in the article, “Capitol Clout” for being a significant political insider within the constantly changing environs of Florida’s State Capitol. Sean is ranked one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Florida Politics” by Influence magazine and Florida Trend magazine says Sean is “one to look for” in the new wave of politics in Florida and lists him as a “Must Know Contact” in Tallahassee.

Sean is a co-host of the popular television talk show “The Usual Suspects,” airing on one of the highest watched CBS affiliates in the country. On the show, he analyzes and provides commentary on the latest happenings in state and national politics. In recent years, Sean has also made appearances on Fox News and MSNBC, while having been published in the Tallahassee Democrat, the Palm Beach Post, and more.

Sean and his wife, Dr. Audra Pittman, reside in Tallahassee where they are raising three daughters Paloma, Pilar and Phoebe.

 

Joseph McCan Senior Policy Director

Joseph McCan serves as Senior Policy Director Governmental Consultant at Pittman 

Law Group. With over 25 years of experience, Joe has worked in nearly all levels of government. In the public sector, Joe worked as a Legislative Aide for Congressman James L. Bacchus in Washington, D.C. as well as Chief Legislative Aide in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. This experience coupled with his years of work as a lobbyist offer Joe a unique perspective into the mind and practices of a legislator. Joe also worked in various positions in federal and state campaigns culminating in his service as Campaign Manager for Attorney General Bob Butterworth’s final re-election campaign.

In the private sector, Joe was a founding member of Ballard Partners, Inc. Over the ensuing 15 years, he played a key role in helping develop Ballard Partners from a small startup into one of the largest lobbying firms in the state. Joe has represented a wide range of clients from local governments to Fortune 500 companies. Past clients include 3M, Cardinal Health, HCR Manor Care and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals as well as professional sports franchises like the New York Yankees, Miami Heat and Tampa Bay Lightning. His past work with local governments include the City of Boca Raton, City of Delray Beach, City of Pembroke Pines, and the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners.

Joe has received numerous advocacy awards from clients such as the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology, the Marine Industry Association of Florida, and Barr Laboratories to name a few. He has also served in several leadership capacities in North Florida, most significantly with the Boy Scouts of America and as a member of the Board of Trustees at Holy Comforter Episcopal School. Joe is the proud father of three children: Joseph, Molly, and Sean Patrick.

 

Jasmyne Henderson Attorney & Director of Government Affairs

Attorney Jasmyne N. Henderson leads Pittman Law Group’s Government Affairs Practice. A graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, Jasmyne brings to the Government Affairs team not only her legal education but also her experience in public administration and community sciences.

Jasmyne began her academic career in public administration at the University of Florida, earning a degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. Jasmyne continued her education by earning a Master’s degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). Jasmyne joined Pittman Law Group in 2010, assisting the firm’s campaign efforts for State Representative Alan Williams and City of Tallahassee Mayor John Marks. Jasmyne culminated her campaign experience as Director of Field Operations for the Geraldine Thompson for Senate Campaign.

Jasmyne leads the firm’s substantive legislation efforts including amendment drafting and processing. Jasmyne is proficient in statutory interpretation, well versed in public policy, and works within the firms administrative and rule making practices.

In 2016, Jasmyne was named one of Florida Politics’ 30 under 30: Rising Stars of Florida Politics as well as one of the 40 under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates by the National Bar Association. Jasmyne also understands the importance of civic engagement. She currently serves as President-Elect for the Tallahassee Barristers Association and as a member of the Outreach Committee for the Tallahassee Bar Association. Further, the Florida Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division recently invited Jasmyne to lead a CLE for diversity inclusion. Jasmyne serves her community as an advisor to the Pearls Of Perfection Teen Group founded by the Delta Kappa Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., member of the South Atlantic Regional Conference Committee for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and as Fundraising Chair for the Board of Directors of the ICE Foundation.

Jasmyne is married to Ashton Henderson, Assistant Director of Football Advising and Coordinator of the Seminole Leadership Program for the Florida State University Athletic Program.
