Javon Knight
Javon Knight is the Assistant Director of Federal Affairs at the Pittman Law Group and brings a unique combination of experience in local, state, and federal government advocacy as well as public policy development at each of those levels. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Principal at Husch Blackwell Strategies lobbying various industries at both the Federal and State (MD) level, leveraginghis background from working in the U.S. House of Representatives. During his time serving in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Fellow and Legislative Assistant with Rep. Cleaver’s Office (D-MO), Javon managed a comprehensive policy portfolio encompassing transportation, economic development, education, criminal justice, and judiciary matters.
Javon’s expertise in local advocacy was honed through his work with the City of Jacksonville’s Intergovernmental Affairs team, City Council and Mayor’s Office. He further developed his skills in the district office of former U.S. Rep. Al Lawson (D-FL) and enhanced his transportation policy knowledge as a Government Relations Associate with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. Javon received a Master’s in Public Policy from Jacksonville University. He resides in Washington, D.C. and in his spare time enjoys soccer and navigating the restaurant scene in the nations’ Capital.
